Pi-Ester (Eroster)

Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is a semi-crystalline polyester known for its outstanding technical properties, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. PBT engineering polymers are used in various sectors, including automotive, electrical / electronics, technical / industrial, and consumer goods, for manufacturing components.

Product Characterstics

Pi-Ester and Eroster are engineering polymers renowned for their remarkable properties. These include elevated stiffness and mechanical resistance, superior resistance to high temperatures and UV radiation, exceptional hardness and wear resistance, excellent electrical insulation properties, minimal moisture absorption, exceptional weatherability, outstanding chemical resistance, and the ability to provide a high-quality surface finish and gloss

Compared to polyamides, PBT engineering polymers have similar mechanical properties in the dry state with a greater specific weight and lower melting point than PA6.6, greater dimensional stability thanks to negligible sensitivity to humidity changes, and lower impact strength, particularly with respect to conditioned polyamides.

Our products are available in a number of grades: unreinforced, impact modified, reinforced with glass fibre and mineral fillers, special formulations designed to fulfil specific requirements, and PBT/ASA blends to enhance appearance and dimensional stability.
